Cylinder
Look at the figure of a cylinder.

l It has two plane faces (its top and base) and one curved
face. Both the plane faces of a cylinder are the same
                    shape and size.

l It has two equal curved edges where the curved face
                    meets with its plane faces.
                l It has no vertex.

            Cone

Look at the figure of a cone.
l It has one plane face (its base) and only one curved face.
                l It has one vertex.

l It has one curved edge, where the
curved face meets with its plane face.

            Sphere
The figure given is a sphere.

l It does not have any edge or vertex.
l It has a curved face.

l Half of a sphere is called a hemisphere. It has one curved
face, one plane face and one curved edge.

                         Keep in Mind

Solid shapes are also known as 3-dimensional (3-D) shapes. All solid shapes have a
                    surface and occupy space.

            CombinATion of Solid ShApeS

In our daily life, most objects that we see around us are not made up of a single solid
shape. Instead, they are formed by combining two or more solid shapes such as a

cube, cuboid, sphere, cylinder, cone and prism.

for example: a. An ice cream is a combination of a cone and a
                                  hemisphere.

                              b. A mace (gada) is the combination of a cylinder
                                  and a sphere.
